U.S. LOWERS THREAT LEVEL
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The United States on Thursday lowered the terror threat level from high to elevated -- orange to yellow - citing the end of the Muslim hajj pilgrimage as a key factor. At the same time, the United States warned that the country is still in danger of a terror attack. The level was raised from yellow to orange on February 7 based on specific intelligence, the government said. Attorney General John Ashcroft and Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge issued a statement Thursday saying the decision to lower the threat level "was based on a careful review of how this specific intelligence has evolved and progressed over the past three weeks, as well as counter-terrorism actions we have taken to address specific aspects of the threat situation.

RAIN, RAIN, and MORE RAIN!
Rain to continue thru Saturday - Rains may be slowing traffic in some areas, but they bring a tremendous benefit to the area's Wildlife Refuges. According to the manager of the Bill Williams Wildlife Refuge in La Paz County, "With the continual little bits of rain periodically, we're going to have a wildflower bloom this spring that's just going to be unbelievable. Like something we haven't seen for four or five years." The Topock Marsh, Bill Williams and Lake Havasu Wildlife Refuges are open to the public however because of the water elevation in some parts, it's advisable to check with the Fish and Wildlife offices before heading in. Travelers heading to the high country in northern Mohave and southern Clark Counties be warned of a severe storm moving through the area. The storm is expected to dump heavy rains in the upper deserts and snow in elevations about 5,000 feet, with accumulations of up to 12 inches in the highest elevations. The storm is expected to continue dropping moisture in the Golden Shores area thru Saturday before moving out to the east. Golden Shores has had a little over 2 inches of rain in February.

Weekly Funny
Female Air Controller- While taxiing at a major airport, the crew of a US Air flight departing made a wrong turn and came nose to nose with a United 727.
An irate female ground controller lashed out at the US Air crew, screaming: "US Air 2771, where the heck are you going?! I told you to turn right onto Charlie taxiway! You turned right on Delta!
Stop right there. I know it's difficult for you to tell the difference between C' and D', but get it right!"
Continuing her rage to the embarrassed crew, she was now shouting hysterically: "Now you've screwed everything up! It'll take forever to sort this out! You stay right there and don't move till I tell you to! You can expect progressive taxi instructions in about half an hour and I want you to go exactly where I tell you, when I tell you, and how I tell you! You got that, US Air 2771?"
"Yes ma'am," the humbled crew responded. Naturally, the ground control communications frequency fell terribly silent after the verbal bashing of US Air 2771. Nobody wanted to chance engaging the irate ground controller in her current state of mind. Tension in every cockpit was definitely running high.
Just then an unknown pilot broke the silence and keyed his microphone, asking: "Wasn't I married to you once?"

Weekly Prayer
- Heavenly Father I thank You that YOU watch over Your Word to perform it in our lives. As we do what You said for us to do in Your Word there is not one of Your promises that we can't attain. I give thanks that all of Your Word is truth & that Truth sets us free from all sin & bondage. As we look into Your Word may our minds be renewed & washed, may our spirits be cleansed & refreshed, may our understanding be opened. We call on You now Lord in the name of Jesus. Amen.
