DIRT BIKE ACCIDENT G.S.
SUNDAY MORNING - Around
11:30 a.m. GSFD received a call on a dirt bike accident at the clay
pits north of town. Bikers on the scene reported they did not see
what happened. They just went over a hill and found the man laying

He was transported to Needles and then to the Trauma Center at UMC
in Las Vegas.
TRAILER FIRE G.S.
WEDNESDAY NITE-
Around 9:00 p.m. GSFD received a call on a trailer fire in the
alley way between Shore Drive and Sand Bar. Upon arrival the 21 foot
trailer was totally engulfed in flames and was a total loss. The man
who lived in the trailer apparently lost everything. The fire
department determined the fire was accidental and, fortunately, did
not spread to any other buildings or structures.

TOPOCK SCHOOL READERS

Golden Shores- Topock School
students lined the street and around the fence of the post office on
Monday, March 3rd, in celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday called Read
Across America. Headed by Beverley James, each of the hundreds of
links held in line represent a book title that has been read by the
students. The national program, Read Across America, is a program
designed to reward students for reading more books. It was a very
nice display of students proud to show off all the books they have
read.

Parker hosts 'Super
Weekend' PARKER, Ariz. -
Calling this weekend in Parker busy may be understatement,
instead call it "Super Weekend," as residents and visitors have four
different events to attend. "There's a Ricky Van Shelton concert at
Bluewater Resort and Casino, Main Street's Boys vs. the Bulls Pro
Bull riding, the International Water-Ski Races, and if that weren't
enough, a wonderful new event, our first bluegrass festival at La
Paz County Park," said Don Rolapp, tourism director for the Parker
Area Chamber of Commerce. The water-ski races will force the closure
of the Parker Strip area on the river Saturday and Sunday, however
shuttle boats will assist watercraft during breaks in the
races.
