ONE DEAD IN I-40 ROLLOVER
Needles, CA - There's been another fatal road accident, this time on I-40 near Needles. It occurred Saturday when Moral Riggs, a member of the Navajo Nation, lost control of his vehicle. "Due to his intoxicated state, Riggs allowed the vehicle to leave the paved roadway," said California Highway Patrol officer Shannon Stumbaugh. Pronounced dead at the scene after being ejected during the rollover was Jaye Dee Minigoats, of the Navajo Nation. Riggs, who suffered minor injuries in the accident, will face vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI charges once he's released from Colorado River Medical Center.

VEHICLE ROLLOVER TODAY
File Mile Landing - Around 9:00 a.m. this morning the fire department responded to a call on a rollover on Route 1 just north of Five Mile Landing. Upon arrival, they discovered the white truck was on it's side, but the driver, a 27 year old male not from Golden Shores, was ok and did not require medical services or transport. Debbie, of the fire department, said the whole ordeal lasted about 10 minutes. The vehicle did not appear damaged. The driver over-corrected on a curve. They probably pushed the vehicle back on it's wheels and drove away.

NUKE WASTE TO BE TRANSPORTED ACROSS OUR HIGHWAYS
Tri-State - The federal Energy Department is looking at transporting nuclear waste to Yucca Mountain via truck and not rail as originally planned, which would mean the nuclear waste would be traveling Tri-State area highways. The shift to over-the-road transportation is a budgetary move, allowing the Energy Department to delay development of a $1 billion rail spur. The first shipments to Yucca Mountain are due in 2010.

VFW 6306 GETS WEBSITE
G.S. VFW - The VFW recently announced their website now available for viewing. The URL is www.vfwpost6306.org. It is unknown to whom credit is given for the design of the website. This will probably become known to the VFW members. But the website looks nice. They did a nice job. The only problem seen so far is that the newsletter is old. But keep up the good work!

The cost to continue to have your Website Links and Email Links is only $20.00 per year. Now you also have the option of having a banner ad put on the page for only $50.00 per year. To have your business listed on the website is free, but we will cover our costs with Links. Let's give Golden Shores some class and make our website look professional. If you do not have a website for your business, website design and webspace is very reasonable. Call 768-1400 or email ys@goldenshores.net. We are always open to suggestions.

Weekly Funny
How to call the police - George Phillips of Williston, North Dakota, was going up to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window.
George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.
He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and he said no. Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available.
George said "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.
"Hello. I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed.
Well, you don't have to worry about them now cause I've just shot them all." Then he hung up.
Within five minutes three police cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips residence. Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed.
One of the policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"
George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

    Weekly Prayer
    - Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray and confess that the Spirit of the Lord will rest upon our troops, as they go into harms way. We pray and believe that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We give you Lord all the praise and the glory. We pray the hedge of protection around them, right now, in the name of Jesus. We thank You Father, that You will be a wall of fire around them and camp legions of angels around them, and we ask You to place Your protection to keep them from all harm. Amen.
