TERRORIST ALERT

BOBGULLEY.com

INVESTIGATION OF FIRES CONTINUES
G.S.F.D. - The investigation of some recent fires in and around Golden Shores continues. Debbie Muston is out of town this week, but the G.S. fire department continues to work with the Mohave County Sheriff's Department. No details are available at this time for obvious reasons. After the recent rash of fires and with the Terrorist Alert Level now at HIGH, everyone should be on the lookout for any suspicious activities and report any to the fire department or the Sheriff's Office. If you see or know about any suspicious or illegal activity, you can contact the fire department at 768-4546 or the sheriff's office at 758-0700. If it is an Emergency, CALL 911.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE GEARING UP FOR HOLIDAY WEEKEND
Colorado River - The Mohave County Sheriff's Office is gearing up for what is anticipated as a busy holiday weekend.
Numerous boaters are expected on the Colorado River for Memorial Day, traditionally the busiest summer time holiday on the Colorado River. In anticipation of the influx of boaters, MCSO personnel have been readying the fleet consisting of 10 boats that are permanently stationed on Lake Havasu and more at other points. Personnel are also drawing up their focus points for the weekend.
"We will be on the lookout for the standard infractions," said Sheriff Tom Sheahan. "We will be strictly enforcing the OUI (Operating Under the Influence) laws as well as looking for boaters operating their vessels recklessly. We will also be patrolling Thompson Bay looking for people operating above a wakeless speed in the no wake zone. That is a big safety issue," Sheriff Sheahan said.
"Another area of focus will be excessively noisy boats, a problem that has caught the attention of more and more Lake Havasu City area residents. In addition to the safety regulations that we will be enforcing, we will also be on the lookout for these infractions. We hope all of the visitors to the Colorado River have a great and safe holiday weekend. As always, safety is our number one goal," Sheriff Sheahan said.
Off the river, the Sheriff, along with all law enforcement agencies will be watching for Driving Under the Influence, people not wearing seat belts, and children not restrained properly in vehicles. With the terrorist level back up at HIGH, law enforcement will be on the lookout for any suspicious activity.

FATAL ACCIDENT-CENTENNIAL
Arizona Strip - Mohave County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a fatal accident that occurred in the Arizona Strip Saturday morning. According to reports, a 13 year old boy was driving a quad with his 8-year-old brother sitting in front of him on the quad. The vehicle was going approximately 10 to 15 miles per hour southwest of the Store House in Centennial Park. The elder brother attempted a left-hand turn and the quad rolled over on top of the younger brother. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges are going to be filed in the case. Neither of the boys were wearing helmets at the time of the incident.
Editor's Note: I have personally known people that have lost children family members on these recreational vehicles. It is something they have to learn to live with the rest of their lives. Everyone should always dress appropriately, i.e. helmets, etc., when riding quads and similar recreational vehicles.

Golden Shores Website Changes
Click Here- The Golden Shores website is undergoing some major changes. We have a new look. If you have not seen it lately, have a look.
Soon the website will be moved to a non-commercial, popup free hosting space. Freeyellow.com has served it's purpose and it is time to put the website on a space that is not supported by popup advertising screens. This costs money, but not much. The cost to continue to have your Website Links and Email Links is only $20.00 per year. Now you also have the option of having a banner ad put on the page for only $50.00 per year. To have your business listed on the website is free, but we will cover our costs with Links. Let's give Golden Shores some class and make our website look professional. If you do not have a website for your business, website design and webspace is very reasonable. Call 768-1400 or email ys@goldenshores.net. We are always open to suggestions.

A CHILD'S QUESTION
A little girl once asked her mother the age-old question, "How did I get here?"
Her mother told her, "God sent you.."
"Did God send you, too?" asked the child.
"Yes, Dear," the mother replied.
"What about Grandma and Grandpa?" the child persisted.
"He sent them also," the mother said.
"Did he send their parents, too?" asked the child.
"Yes, Dear, He did," said the mother patiently.
"So you're telling me that there has been no sex in this family for 200 years! No wonder everyone's so grouchy around here."

    Weekly Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, When this world closes in on me, let me remember Jesus' example, to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. It's the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will. I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight. I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly. Lord, we know that only You can offer forgiveness, thru Jesus Christ, that leads to eternal life in that glorious place. This is my prayer.
We ask these things in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
