DRUGS -- BUSTED!
G.S. - While on patrol in the Golden Shores RV Park early Monday morning, a Mohave County Sheriff's Deputy observed a woman driving in a manner consistent with possibly being under the influence of alcohol. The deputy contacted the woman, identified as Rose Marie Davis, 41, of Golden Shores. The deputy observed a can of beer in plain view. Davis consented to a search of the vehicle which turned of a large knife. Inside the hilt of the knife the deputy found a baggie of methamphetamine. Also found in Davis' purse was marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and charged with possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, all of which are felonies. She was booked into the District II Jail in Mohave Valley without incident.

MOM SAYS SON POINTED GUN
G.S. - Arguing with another man while on the phone with a Mohave County Sheriff's deputy landed a local man in jail. The incident occurred at a residence on the 13000 block of Shore Parkway last week, when the deputy heard Michael Jon Sandoval, 38, reportedly get into a verbal altercation with another person. When the deputy responded to the residence, Sandoval's mother reportedly said her son pointed a gun at the victim during the argument. The victim later corroborated the woman's statement and Sandoval was booked into the District II jail without incident on disorderly conduct with a weapon charges.

BOATING ACCIDENT LHC
Colorado River - Mohave County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a boating accident that occurred about 1000 yards off of Windsor Beach Saturday evening. According to reports, a 1975 Starcraft 18 ˝ foot inboard boat occupied by three Lake Havasu City residents was struck by another craft, ejecting the three occupants. The other vessel, described as a large white boat with red and black trim, left the scene. The three occupants, identified as Thomas Ray Ross, 43, Sheila Bradshaw, 48, and Rick Cronin, 48, were picked up by another boater in the area and then transferred to a State Parks vessel that took the trio ashore. They were not injured in the incident. The starcraft continued running after the group was ejected, traveling in about a 20-foot circle at full throttle. The deputy responding to the scene made several close passes with the patrol vessel in an attempt to swamp it to slow it down. The craft then slowed to a near stop and traveled straight, allowing an MCSO employee to board the boat and put the throttle in neutral and turn the engine off. The boat was then towed to Windsor Beach where it was trailered and examined for damage caused by the collision. State Parks and Lake Havasu City Police Department vessels helped traffic control during the incident, keeping other craft away from the scene and out of harms way during the incident. MCSO as well as LHCPD officers looked for the craft at the launching facilities in the area without success. Anyone with information on the responsible craft is asked to contact the Mohave County Sheriff's Office.

Mohoney, 31, on charges of being a felon with an explosive device, firearms possession and possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine - with intent to sell. Also taken into custody was Shannon Allen, 27, on the explosive device charges.

FORMER PUBLIC DEFENDER CHARGED
Kingman - Police are reporting the arrest of a former Mohave County public defense attorney. According to reports, Michael Grondin was apparently living with a friend when he reportedly removed a stereo, which he allegedly gave to another person to pawn. Grondin was taken into custody without incident and faces charges of burglary, felony theft, and trafficking in stolen property. He resigned from the county public defenders office last year. Also arrested at the residence on the 800 block of Grandview Avenue was Jimmy Giddings, 43. He was charged with possession of marijuana and probation violation. Grondin has been the public defender in the past for a number of Golden Shores residents.

HEAD-ON COLLISION ON 95
Lake Havasu City - Highway 95, just north of the city, was closed for about 45 minutes then limited to one lane for about another hour Tuesday, as public safety teams worked to extricate one of the victims in a two-car, head-on collision. The accident occurred a little after 2 p.m. at milepost 197, near Havasu Heights. Three people were injured, one severely and he was flown to the trauma center at University Medical Center in Las Vegas. Department of Public Safety, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies, San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies, Desert Hills Fire and Lake Havasu City Fire teams all responded to the accident.

ARMED ROBBERY TURNS UP AIR PISTOL
Kingman - Mohave County Sheriff's Deputies responded to an RV Park in the 100 block of Route 66 Friday afternoon in reference to an armed robbery. The victim, who works for a taxi company, stated that he picked the suspect, later identified as Jon Richard Murvine, 56, of Kingman, up at a motel and took him to a residence in the RV Park. After arriving at the location, Murvine reportedly pulled a pistol on the victim and demanded his money. Deputies attempted to contact Murvine at the residence, but another subject stated he had just gotten back from taking Murvine back to the motel at which he was staying. Deputies had Kingman Police Officers detain the suspect and responded to the motel where they contacted him. An air pistol matching the description given by the victim was found in the suspect's room. Murvine was arrested without incident. He reportedly told the deputy that he did it because he was going to jail anyway for a parole violation. However, a records check showed no such violation. Murvine was booked into the Mohave County Jail on the felony charge of armed robbery.

FIREMAN CHARGED WITH THEFT
Yucca - Mohave County Sheriff's Deputies arrested the assistant fire chief of the Yucca Fire Department and another Yucca resident for allegedly stealing a generator from the scene of a fire. Deputies responded to Gem Acres Road and Interstate 40 after a subject reported that David Elmer Todd, 52, had helped another subject, identified as Lester William Underhill, 53, take a generator from that location, where an RV had burned down Thursday night. The pair reportedly met up Friday evening and stole the generator. Deputies contacted the pair who reportedly admitted to taking the generator. Todd led deputies to a spot in the desert near his residence where he buried the generator to hide it. Todd and Underhill were arrested without incident and charged with felony theft.

FATHER'S DAY THIS SUNDAY
THE PERFECT DAD - Whether you had the world's second greatest dad (mine is the greatest!) or if your dad wasn't around, or if you wish your dad hadn't been around, one thing is for certain: your dad wasn't perfect.
Even now that I'm a dad with three kids myself I can look back at times when I could have been a better dad. It's humbling sometimes to receive Father's Day cards and greetings knowing that I hadn't always lived up to being a real good dad. I remember the times I hid behind the newspaper saying I was busy when my son wanted to play catch. I remember the times that mowing the yard were more important than coloring with my kids. I remember the times that watching the game on TV were more important than having a conversation with my daughter and her boyfriend. The "perfect dad"…no way!
These thoughts bring me back to our heavenly Father, our heavenly Dad. In my times of prayer, I've never heard Him say He's too busy for me. I've never heard Him say He's too tired. I've never heard Him tell me I'll never amount to anything. Full of love, grace, and mercy…that's what I want to be for my kids. I want to point them to our heavenly Father and say, "Now there's a good Daddy, and I want to be more like Him!"
I pray that this Father's Day we all take the time to honor our dads. Even though we dads are not perfect, we appreciate your expressions of love and kindness and are grateful for them. And this Father's Day, let's also remember to honor our heavenly Father and thank Him for being the loving Father and the perfect Dad He is.
"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" I John 3:1
His Abundant Blessings to You This Father's Day,

    Weekly Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, So many things crowd our minds to distract us from Your Word but time is growing short. Help us to clear the garbage out, lean on & trust in You. Let us read Your Word so You can recall it to us in times of need. Thank You for mercy & grace that has been given us. Let us see You have set us apart & intend us to different from the world. Open our ears & eyes let us look thru the eyes of the Spirit, even at ourselves.
Father I thank because You know the plan You have for our lives, the way we should go, when we go in and when we go out. I pray Lord You will order our footsteps as we go out into the highways and byways of life. This is a new day You have created for us to enjoy, may Your angels watch over us and protect us from all harm and evil, may we recognize Your Lordship in every area of our lives.
We pray and ask these things in the Name of Jesus. Amen
