HOOVER DAM BYPASS GETS FEDERAL
FUNDS Washington D.C. - A bi-partisan effort by two
Tri-State area senators will bring $7 million to the area. Sen.
Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., secured additional
federal funding for the Hoover Dam Bypass through Congressional
approved GARVEE Bonds. That brings the federal commitment to more
than $93 million of the $234 million project.
COOLING OFF! G.S. - After an extended hot and humid
season this year, it is finally cooling off. The temperatures are
down, the humidity is down, and the dewpoint is down from over 70°
to around 40°. Swamp coolers are working again. In fact, the
mornings have been quite cool this week. The forecast is for warmer
temperatures this weekend, but not the extreme heat and humidity
like we had in July and August. The recent thunderstorms left
heavy rains and destruction in some around the county, but Golden
Shores is still just Golden Shores with only a trace of rain and not
much damage from the storms. Maybe we're lucky, huh?
