IT'S A LONG WAYS DOWN, BOY!
 G.S. - This
afternoon, Thursday 9/25, around 2:30 p.m. the fire department
responded to a call from the bottom of the hill at Powell Lake and
Cactus. That is a very dangerous turn if you are not completely
alert. The vehicle appeared to be barely hanging on as the left rear
tire was up in the air. Upon first arriving at the scene, a water
company driver walked up to the vehicle, but was afraid to touch it
for fear it might tilt. He used his cell phone to call the fire
department which arrived in a couple of minutes. There were no
injuries reported, but the driver appeared a bit disoriented as
firemen assisted him from the scene.

ACCIDENT SUNDAY
 G.S. - Sunday
afternoon around 1:00 p.m. the fire department and sheriff responded
to an accident on the highway at the intersection between Old
Western Trader and Shell River Stop. There were no injuries
reported. Both vehicles and drivers were from out of town, just
passing through. Apparently the driver of the small pickup truck ran
a stop sign and the motor home struck the truck.

while Topock school has 49 7th and 8th graders. Congratulations to
the Lady Hawks!
7 DEAD IN HELICOPTER CRASH
Grand Canyon - The helicopter crash that
occurred Saturday afternoon over the Hualapai Indian Tribe Land left
seven in total perishing. Sundance Helicopter Tours president Rick
Eisenreich said, "He left Grand Canyon airport and I think he was
about, he had probably flown 3 to four hours that day already, this
was about 12:30, 12:45, entered the canyon and shortly there after a
rotor blade, it appears that rotor blade impacted the wall or one
wall of this side canyon and then the helicopter crashed into
another wall. It pretty much hit the wall head on." Mr. Eisenreich
also said that both his company and NTSB are baffled as to why this
crash occurred. "The air was clear, the pilot was experienced, very
experienced as a matter of fact. He had flown this route over a
thousand times, he's been with us about three and a half years. We
are just completely puzzled."

Deficits Housing Market will remain Strong in the immediate
future, NAR economist predicts. RISMEDIA, Sept. 25-The U.S.
housing market is poised to end this year with a new record for new
home sales, followed in 2004 by the third best record in history,
according to a nationally respected real estate economist. 2003 WILL
SET A REAL ESTATE RECORD. Lereah is predicting that existing home
sales for 2003 will total 5.8 million, which "shatters" the 2002
record. In 2004, if, as predicted, mortgage rates inch up, he is
predicting a 5 percent drop in home sales. that's still the third
best year ever. Something To Watch: Lereach also warned that
Snow's proposal to replace the current regulatory body of Fannie
Mae, Freddie Mac and other housing government-sponsored enterprises
(GSEs) from an agency under the domain of the Department of Housing
and Urban Development to the Department of the Treasure causes him
great concern. COST ESTIMATE GLOSSARY: Reconveyance Fee: Fee

CORNFEST THIS WEEKEND
Ft. Mojave - One of the area's most popular
events returns this weekend, the 10th Annual Mohave Mesa Kiwanis
Cornfest. "It's the largest non-profit event in the area, which
raises a lot of funds for the area. As well as it's very inexpensive
entertainment," said organizer Dave Patterson. "We've got three
stages of entertainment going constantly, it's free admission, free
parking, and again it benefits, last year, 54 different charities
that walked away with funds that are much needed." Last year funds
raised at Cornfest benefited 54 different charity groups. In
addition, Mr. Patterson said that costs have been kept at the same
levels as the past six years. "We've held everything down because,
again, it's important to us not only to earn the funds to then
donate back to the community, but to keep it affordable," he said.
The event gets underway this Friday on Highway 95, just south of
Aztec Road.

for less than $20 and each person can buy up to 3 boxes. A final
decision will be made by the men at the October meeting and possibly
start in November. Watch here for details.

Weekly Prayer
Dear Heavenly
Father, Here we are again, Reaching out to You, hoping that
someway today we will have a deeper understanding of life and of
You. We wonder what is real, what has true meaning does it matter
anyway? You have created all things for man to enjoy yet we complain
and moan. Forgive us Lord. Help us see the beauty in all You do and
in each other help us see You. We are sadly lacking Father, help us
reach into Your abundance and grow up in Your Love and Grace. We
pray and ask these things in the Name of Jesus. Amen Learn about
