NEW NEWS DELIVERY FORMAT
G.S. Great News - This newspaper is growing very fast, and we are very happy about that. But because of the fast growth in the paper AND the interest from YOU FINE FOLKS, we can no longer deliver the entire paper thru email. We must run advertising - you need the information and we must pay our bills. But we are already so big that this file will not fit into an average email. So for you to be able to view the news properly, we are going to send a notification to you each week thru email with a Click-Link and let you read it at your leisure from the web. That way we don't lose our subscribers and you get the entire news without clogging your email. It is also easier to save and print from a website than from email.
We are getting closer to actual print. We are always open to questions and suggestions and like to know what you like. Please feel free to email us or call 768-1400.

Loans are being made available to farmers in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties in California, Nevada's Clark County and all counties in Arizona. Interest rates will be at 3.324 percent and farmers can borrow up to $1.5 million to meet financial obligations and operating expenses. ONE DEAD IN BOAT CRASH
Lake Mohave - One person is dead and one remains hospitalized after a boat crash on Lake Mohave Saturday. The incident happened a little before midnight, when the high-performance speed boat piloted by Eve Haley, 38, of Apple Valley, CA, smashed into Cottonwood Island, just south of Cottonwood Cove. The impact of the crash killed Haley and injured her husband, James Haley, 36, who was airlifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Two others, Donna Cheek, 30, and Brian Cheek, 40, both of Victorville, CA, suffered undisclosed injuries and were transported to UMC where they were treated and released. Cause of accident remains under investigation but water elevation is not considered a factor.
It's the 23rd fatality in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area this year, the fourth resulting from a boating accident

TOPOCK AT LAUGHLIN

G.S. - The Topock Cross Country Team at Laughlin last Saturday 9/27 to run the 1.5 mile course located at Mountain View Park. The young Hawks 1st outing of the season was a successful one as first year runners Scotty Walker and Tess Berryman, both 7th graders, earned medals in their first ever competition. "Tess and Scotty ran very well and will only get better as the season progresses," stated coach John Warren. Robbie Ford is only a 6th grader and placed 15th. He has 3 years left and will be a force in the future. Sixth grader Kaylee King ran very well and missed earning a medal by just one place. Seventh grader Jenae Wolf placed 19th and sixth grader Jackie Haidle placed 26th. Rounding out the Hawks is a group of 5th graders. "My 5th graders are a great group! I am incredibly pleased with their enthusiasm and dedication. We practice daily at 6AM and they show up everyday bright eyed and ready to go," says Mr. Warren. The Hawks continue their season this Saturday in Lake Havasu. The Topock Hawk Cross Country 5th grade runners consist of Kiana McCollum, Amanda Gragg, Samantha Nutting, Adrienne Sandoval, and Ashley Wardrobe.

SILENT WITNESS HELPS THE LAW
Mohave County - The Mohave County Sheriffs Department gets help from time to time from an organization called Mohave Silent Witness. This organization helps in giving the Sheriffs monetary donations for rewards or further investigation. "Anywhere within the county, we supply our local law enforcement agencies with extra money that helps them to solve crimes. Be they anywhere from the strip country to Bullhead, to Kingman, to Meadview, whatever," said Silent Witness treasurer Don Edwards.
"It is strictly a volunteer organization to help raise money through fundraisers, anything from spaghetti dinners, etc. Things like that to raise money to help support our local law enforcement agencies in Mohave County."
The one area Mohave Silent Witness does not generally get involved is Lake Havasu City, which started its own Havasu Silent Witness program after some residents opted to distance the city from Kingman. Mohave Silent Witness meets the first Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. at the Kingman Police Department’s multi-purpose room.

    AIR CONDITIONING
A customer was bothering the waiter in a restaurant. First, he asked that the air conditioning be turned up because he was too hot, then he asked it be turned down cause he was too cold, and so on for about half an hour.
Surprisingly, the waiter was very patient, he walked back and forth and never once got angry. So finally, a second customer asked him why he didn't throw out the pest.
'Oh, I really don't care or mind,' said the waiter with a smile. 'We don't even have an air conditioner.'

    Weekly Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, We ask You for wisdom, then we refuse to use it. We ask for knowledge and refuse to walk in it, we ask for faith and refuse to exercise it. Today, Lord, we ask You to take hold of us, help us OPERATE in the these gifts You give. Show us HOW to listen, to exercise our faith, use wisdom and knowledge. Help us to stop leaning to our own understanding and recognize Your Lordship in every area of our lives. We know You have a better way.
We pray and ask these things in the Name of Jesus. Amen
