INMATES GET GOOD DINNER

Mohave County -
Twice a year inmates at the Mohave County Jail have a special holiday meal to enjoy. Inmates get a break from jail food twice a year at Thanksgiving and Christmas; they are served the traditional turkey meal. According to Cheryl Butler, Food Service Director at the jail, this Thanksgiving meal will be given to inmates during lunch thereby allowing the kitchen staff to be home with their family's Thanksgiving evening. Sheriff Tom Sheahan said "We appreciate the kitchen staff for going out of their way in preparing this special holiday meal twice a year and accommodating over 500 hundred inmates".
FROM THE GOVERNOR

Phoenix -
In Arizona, we have so much for which to be thankful.
When Americans dream of vacationing, Arizona is among their top five destinations. As Governor, I know first hand how much we have to offer to our own residents, out-of-state visitors and international tourists.
Arizona is blessed with many unique, scenic and historic sites; we have something to offer every traveler. Of course our grandest attraction – a certain canyon to our north – is our tourism rock of ages. One of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Grand Canyon is an unbelievable spectacle of nature. With two national parks, 16 national monuments and 30 state parks, Arizona is a leading attraction. These historic and spectacular sights were familiar to our Native American and pioneer ancestors years ago and draw millions of visitors from around the country and world today.
As I travel around Arizona, I am always amazed by the history and culture that permeate every town. I am so appreciative of my Arizona family and all you do for this great state.
I wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving.

THANKSGIVING
-
We have much to be grateful for
By Len Munsil, Esq., CAP President
“O come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.” – Psalm 95:1-2.
Each November the president of the United States, in the tradition of holiday compassion and good cheer, symbolically pardons a turkey that might typically face the executioner at this time of year.
This year was no exception, as President Bush on Nov. 17 pardoned a Thanksgiving turkey in a tradition that goes back more than 50 years.
Like the pardoned turkey, pro-life, pro-family Christians have much to be thankful for this season. Researcher George Barna discovered that evangelical Christians constitute 38 percent of voting-age Americans, but were fully 53 percent of all who actually voted. So here are just a few things for which we should be grateful:
• The awakening of Christians to their duty to be engaged in voting their values.
• The election of a pro-life, pro-marriage president and the election of new pro-life senators and Congressmen.
• The election in Arizona of a pro-life, pro-family majority in both the Arizona Senate and House.
• The passage of all 11 marriage-preservation amendments that were on the ballot nationwide, most by large margins.
In addition, we should be grateful that more than three years after Sept. 11, by God’s protection and mercy we have not yet been hit by an additional large terrorist strike. Unlike Spain, we were able to get through a major election without a terrorist attack designed to affect the elections.
While the tasks ahead of us are formidable, we have special reason this season to be grateful to Almighty God.

WEEKLY FUNNY

WEEKLY QUOTE
The minute you settle for less than you deserve, you get even less than you settled for. -- Maureen Dowd
WEEKLY PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father,
We are called Sons of God and do not understand what manner of love that is that we might share in that honor, but oh how we thank You Father that we have taken our places as Your Children and You have become our Father. You take us up on the mountains, walk with us in the valleys, carry us across the deserts, lead us in the wilderness, You never let us be burned or flooded over. You care of so much for us, Lord, and we give You thanks.
We pray and ask these things in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
If you are reading the printed version and this is your first time to pray this or similar prayer, please contact or attend your local church.
